The Holy Journey of Hajj and Umrah

When the Hajj season start, the truthful righteous believers feel in their hearts the blessings of this season. Every year tens of thousands of Muslims prepare themselves for this Holy journey to Makkah and Madinah, the city of the Best Prophet, Muhammad peace be upon him. Every hundred of year the Muslim prepares themselves for this Holy journey to Makkah and Madinah, The city of the best Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Other who long for the Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, but they are unable to remained struck with grief and sadness, specially because they are unsure whether or not they should be able to perform Hajj and Umrah in the upcoming years.

Ibrahim Ibne Adham was among many who people travel on foot to perform Hajj and Umrah. Once a day and while he was walking to Makkah and Madinah, he saw a man riding a camel. The man asks to Ibrahim Ibne Adham, Where are you going? Ibrahim said that I am going to Makkah perform Hajj and Umrah. But you need a ride to Makkah since it is extremely too far. Ibrahim say that indeed I have many but you do not see them. In time of hardship, patience is my ride, in time of prosperity, thankful to Allah is my ride, and in time of feeling tempted to commit a sin, I remember that death is coming soon. Upon hearing this, the man astonishingly says that keep walking, I swear by Allah with the strong faith you have in your heart, you are in a better situation than me.

There in Makkah the hearts and the longing souls find their remedy and healing. People circumambulate the sacred house, the Holy Kabbah with ultimate submission to Allah as is saying that

“O Lord, no matter how many times we circumambulate and turn, there is no refuge except with you.”

There at the Holy Kabbah when you make contact with the black stone and kiss it, remember that the lips of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) this blessed stone. As you raise your head from Sujud (prostration) while praying before the Kabbah, You will be overcome by the magnificence of the Kabbah and recall once again that you are indeed a slave to the Lord of this sacred house.

“Al Tirmidhi related on the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, the Black stone descended from Paradise much whiter than milk, but it was turned black by the sins committed by mankind” Al Tirmidhi said that it was a good and sound hadith. It is sunnah that one touches the black stone and kisses it.

Another Hadith in “Al Bukhari and Al Tirmidhi related on the authority of Amir Ibn Rabia, who said that I saw Umer Ibn Khattab kissing the black stone and I heard him to say, I know well that you are simply a stone and have no power to confer a benefit or to do harm. Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (SAW) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.”

And when you are performing between the mountain of Al-Safa and Al Marwah. Do you remember the story of Lady Hazrat Hajra (Alyhis-salam) and her son Prophet Hazrat Ismail (Alyhis-salam) left them both in Makkah which at the time was completely deserted and barren, and so Hazrat Hajra (Alyhis-Salam) repeatedly to asked him: “O Ibrahim, are we to be left alone in this valley with no water, not food, and not companions?” And his intentions were only to fulfill what Allah ordered him with, and then she said: “Did Allah order you to do this?” He replied that yes. Upon hearing this word and with a complete reliance on Allah she said that then we will not be lost. After that by the will of Allah, fresh pure water sprung out from the ground in large quantities. Then this was given the name of Zam Zam water.

And while wearing the clothes of Ihram people gather on the land of midane Arafat and make supplication to Allah. The Holy Prophet (SAW) say that Devils are most humiliated in belittled disturbed and frustrated during the day of Arafah and this is due to the descent of great mercies and forgiveness of major sins on these days.

After performing Hajj and Umrah people visit Al Madinah Al Munawwarah is the second best and good city after Makkah. In praising Al Madinah the Holy Prophet (SAW) said that the city of Al Madinah will always to be in a better religious state than all other cities.

Dajjal (the one eyed imposter) who will not be able to enter in Madinah. Because it is guarded by great angels. “The Holy Prophet (SAW) said that O Allah bless Al Madinah twice as much as Makkah.” 

Additionally al-Madinah is the city that contains the body of the best of Allah’s creations, Prophet Muhammad may Allah raise his rank, therefore, the hearts of all Muslims long for it.
